UbD – Circulatory System Unit- Stage 1

Unit Goal: For students to understand the circulatory system within the human body






Stage 1
Enduring Understandings What are the overarching enduring understandings for the unit/lesson? (big ideas that transcend the unit)

  1. The student will understand how the circulatory system work with other body systems to keep a body healthy
  2. The student will understand how the circulatory system is vital to human body
  3. The student will understand the role a healthy circulatory system mean for an overall healthy body
  4. The student will understand what would happen to other body systems if the circulatory stystem started to fail

Essential Questions What are the essential questions you can ask to guide inquiry?
  1. How does the circulatory system help you?
  2. What influences the maintenance of a healthy circulatory system? What factors can you control within your life? How? What factors are out of your control (genetic). Give examples and explain resulting problems.
  3. Taking your knowledge of each of the components of the circulatory system, how do the parts of the circulatory system work together?
